"Ditch the Quick Fixes: Discover the Taoist Path to True Healing and Longevity. Are You Ready to Change Modern Medicine?"

In a world enamored with instant solutions and quick fixes, the ancient wisdom of wholistic thinking (yoga, meditation, ayurveda, chinese medicine, and more) offer a profound and controversial challenge to modern medicine.

This isn't about dismissing the miracles of modern interventions, which indeed save lives every day, but about inviting a deeper, more engaged approach to our health and well-being.

At the heart of holistic philosophies lies the understanding that each of us is born with three precious aspects of health.

I am trained in Chinese medicine, yoga and meditation, so I think in these terms.

We all have:

  1. essence (jing),
  2. energy (qi), and
  3. spirit (shen).

These treasures are our physical body, energetic life force, and mental even spiritual health. They are like 3 legs on a stool.

Break one, the whole stool falls.

These "3 Treasures" are not just philosophical concepts, but the foundation of our very existence.

Yet, in the rush and noise of modern life, we often find ourselves disconnected from these, looking outside for solutions to our inner imbalances.

We seek quick pharmaceutical fixes for problems that, at their core, require time, patience, and a gentle, guiding hand to heal.

The truth is, healing isn't about fixing; it's about unfolding.

It's about freeing up our inherent capacity for self-correction and self-healing, a process that is as individual as our fingerprints and often unfolds over time, not overnight.

This perspective might not sit well with the instant gratification promised by modern allopathic medicine.

Allopathy, with its marvels, operates under a paradigm of control, often focusing on symptoms rather than root causes.

It's reductionist, viewing the body as a machine that can be fixed in isolation of its broader context – the human being within and the world around.

In contrast, wholistic practices invite a consideration of not only where the sickness is (maybe in one of the legs of the stool), but by looking at all three.

By harnessing the mind to master our energy and thereby control our essence, we actively participate in our own healing journey.

Yoga works because it reverses the depletion of our essence, energy, and spirit caused by ordinary life.

That's why it feels so good.

Wholistic health is not one of waiting to be healed (by a doctor, physiotherapist or other god of medicine) but of active engagement with the fundamental principles that govern life.

It requires the will and discipline to take full command of your own energy, full control of your body, and full responsibility for your life.

This journey is about reconnecting with our innate powers, understanding that true healing and longevity are within our reach, and realizing that sometimes, the most revolutionary act is to stop what is killing us (not reach for the ibuprofen).

Healers can help. But they are consultants to our health. They should not be miracle workers.

Yoga and other wholistic practice are a challenge the status quo of modern medicine. All I teach and help students with is an invitation to embark on a journey of self-discovery and true healing.

The path is laid out before you, inviting you to reclaim your three treasures and live a life of depth, health, and purpose.

The question isn't whether you can afford to take this path but whether you can afford not to.
